Dr. Edward Thomas Chappell, Neurosurgeon, is now providing neurosurgical care for patients with brain tumors – and associated neurological symptoms such as headaches and spine pain – to patients in the La Mirada and Los Angeles areas. Dr. Chappell has been a leader in minimally-invasive techniques for spine and brain surgery for more than 10 years, and remains one of the few neurosurgeons in Southern California using minimally-invasive techniques routinely in his practice.
Dr. Chappell earned his Doctorate of Medicine from the Wake Forrest University Bowman Gray School of Medicine, and spent his residency in Neurosurgery at George Washington University in Washington, DC (the hospital to the president in times of emergency). Today, he serves as a professor of neurosurgery at the University of California, Irvine.
Dr. Chappell is a prolific published researcher and presenter of such subjects as Brain Trauma, Brain Tumors, and Spine Surgery. He has special training in skull base surgery, stereotaxic techniques, and spine techniques. Dr. Chappell has been honored throughout his career for his attention to patient care and the instruction of students and residents.
