Healthpointe Offers Functional Capacity Examinations Throughout Southern California
Under Healthpointe’s Occupational Medicine Services, the Functional Capacity Examinations (FCE) was established to benefit employers, employees and case managers alike. The FCE is a computerized examination that is conducted by Dr. Ricardo Castro. The FCE evaluates and measures functional capacities to determine if patients are capable of performing job demands, or require restrictions for their tasks.
With the utilization of advanced equipment and precise documentation, Healthpointe’s team of physicians are able to successfully calculate and measure patients’ functional abilities, as well as strength, range of motion, lifting capacity, posture tolerance, and more. Dr. Castro and his team will be able to identify patients who are unable to return to their regular work duties, thereby getting them on the path to vocational rehabilitation.
“Injured workers who are in pain will still be able to return to modified duties, and my job is to help patients build confidence as they do so,” says Dr. Rick Castro. “I will be able to release patients back to full work or modified duties, and fulfill the need to create safe and accurate work restrictions. This way, employees and employers are all satisfied.”
