Distinguished Arthroscopic and Sports Medicine Specialist Joins Healthpointe in La Mirada
Healthpointe is proud to welcome fellowship trained Surgeon, Dr. Michael Darren Marger, M.D., MPH into their growing multidisciplinary team of physicians and specialists. Dr. Marger is board-certified in Orthopaedic Surgery and specializes in Sports Medicine, Arthroscopic Surgery, and Shoulder and Knee Disorders. Dr. Marger will work closely with both professional and amateur athletes and treat their injuries with a goal to return then back to their sport.
Dr. Marger has experience in treating orthopedic injuries that are not only derived from sports, but also from home and the workplace. Patients who undergo Healthpointe’s Sports Medicine program can expect to receive a variety of personalized treatment options including but not limited to physical therapy, medication, and other therapeutic remedies to return the individuals back to their best health possible.
Dr. Marger has a profound devotion for his patients and aims to provide unrivaled quality medical care for everyone he treats. In 1994, Dr. Marger graduated from UCLA School of Public Health where he earned his Master’s Degree in Public Health (MPH) in Epidemiology. He then obtained his Doctorate of Medicine from the prestigious Sackler School of Medicine, New York State Program in 2000. Additionally, he feels his undergraduate work at University of California, San Diego (UCSD) where he majored in Animal Physiology and Neuroscience served as an excellent foundation for his career in Medicine. He went on to complete his Orthopaedic Surgery Residency at the State University of New York at Buffalo, School of Medicine and Biomedical Sciences in 2005. He later completed his Fellowship in Sports Medicine at Minnesota Sports Medicine in Minneapolis, Minnesota in 2006.
