What is a Medical Assistant, and how does one become one?
A medical assistant supports the work of physicians and other health professionals, usually in a clinic setting. There are many colleges, universities, and technical schools that offer medical assistant training programs. Depending upon your preferences, you may choose to earn a certificate or diploma in as little as 9-12 months.[pullquote]I enjoy the fact that there’s always something new to learn.[/pullquote]

What’s your favorite part about your job?
I enjoy how busy I am and the fact there’s always something new to learn.

What’s a typical day like at Healthpointe?  
At Healthpointe we greet patients, help patients with their questions, answer phones, perform pre-employment testing, as well as see patients on a walk-in basis for personnel or industrial injuries.

How has Healthpointe shaped your career development?
Since I began working here, my knowledge has increased tremendously, and now I feel more confident because I am multi-trained in various positions.
