Healthpointe welcomes Neurosurgeon and Spinal Surgeon, Dr. Albano
We are proud to announce our newest member of the team, a Neurosurgeon, Spinal Surgeon, and dedicated family man, Doctor Stephen D. Albano!
Dr. Stephen Albano was born and raised in Mililani, Hawaii on the Island of Oahu. He graduated from the University of Hawaii with a bachelor’s degree in physics, and then went to medical school at the Touro University College of Osteopathic Medicine in Vallejo, California.
From there, he completed his neurosurgery residency at the Desert Regional Medical Center in Palm Springs, and completed a combined Orthopedic and Neurosurgical Spine fellowship at the University of California Irvine. While he was studying, he moonlighted as a neurosurgeon for Kaiser Permanente in Anaheim, as well as some work in Palmdale.
Dr. Albano is dedicated to improving the lives of his patients, and his love for the practice of medicine coupled with his impressive qualifications makes him a beneficial and important member of the team.
“My favorite part about being a doctor is seeing a patient after surgery a couple months down the line when they have recovered, and are able to re-engage with their life in a meaningful way” says Dr. Albano.
“They have a renewed enthusiasm and optimism toward life. It reminds me to be grateful for all that I have in my life.”
Dr. Albano’s first priority outside of his work is his family. “Much of my free time is dominated by my two kids. I have a son who is three and a daughter who is about to turn two. We try to make it to Disneyland when possible. Otherwise, I try to alternate between yoga and tai chi before work, and if I’m lucky I get to play video games before bed.”

His notable experience in his growing career, as well as his humanistic passion for the practice, help to show that he is ready and capable of serving any patient in their time of need.
